Greek tea consumption is forecast to reach 21,200 tonnes by 2026, up from 17,000 tonnes in 2021. This growth of 3.7% per year is slightly higher than the 2% annual growth rate seen since 2017. In 2021, Greece was the 31st biggest tea-consuming nation in the world, overtaken by South Africa, which consumed 17,000 tonnes. India, Brazil and Argentina were the second, third and fourth biggest tea markets, respectively.
