Kyrgyz Truck Exports Plummet by 58% in 2023 BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan — Kyrgyz truck exports sharply declined to approximately $827,000 in 2023, a significant drop from $1.98 million in 2022. This represents a steep decrease of 58.2% year-over-year. Since 2000, the country's supply has consistently decreased by an average of 9.7% annually. In the global rankings, Kyrgyzstan fell to the 77th position in 2023, with Costa Rica surpassing it with similar export figures. The top three countries in this ranking were the United States, Germany, and France, respectively. In contrast, Kyrgyz truck imports saw a notable increase a few years ago. In 2018, imports surged to around $23.8 million, up from $15 million in 2017. This marked a significant rise of 59.2% compared to the previous year. However, since 2000, Kyrgyz demand for truck imports has decreased by an average of 31.4% annually.
