Jamaican truck imports are projected to soar to approximately $134 million by 2028, up from around $114 million in 2023. This marks an average annual growth rate of 2.5%. Since 1996, the demand for trucks in Jamaica has been on a steady rise, increasing by an average of 3.9% each year. On the export front, the numbers paint a different picture. In 2017, Jamaican truck exports plummeted to about $81,000, a dramatic 94% drop from the nearly $1.3 million recorded in 2016. This decline is part of a long-term trend; since 2001, Jamaica's truck supply for export has been decreasing at an average annual rate of 17.7%.
