Nepal's yarn import and export are set to see a considerable shift over the next five years. Import of yarn into Nepal is expected to reach $12 million by 2026. Over the past seven years, demand for yarn has increased by an average of 3.1% annually. Since 1999, Nepalese demand has grown by 6.1% each year. Meanwhile, yarn exports from Nepal are projected to reach $612 million in 2017, after a sharp decrease of 75.6% in 2016 compared to the previous year. Since 1999, Nepalese supply has been declining at a rate of 84% annually. These numbers indicate a major shift in Nepal's yarn import and export in the coming years.
