Tanzanian Soap Trade saw a decrease in 2021, with a trade value of US$2,496,500, down by -25.8% compared to 2020. Tanzanian soap exports are set to drop slightly, declining by 0.2% each year on average, to reach 1.6 million kilograms by 2026. This follows a steady 4.2% annual growth rate since 2002. Imports of soap into Tanzania are expected to reach 2 million kilograms by 2026, a decrease of 7.8% annually on average since 2000. In 2021, the country ranked 78th in the world, behind Kyrgyzstan, with 3.2 million kilograms. The United States, the Czech Republic and Russia followed in positions 2, 3 and 4. The value of Tanzanian soap trade decreased in 2021, to US$2.5 million, a drop of 25.8% from 2020.
