Costa Rica's soap imports are set to reach nearly 20 million kilograms by 2026. This is an increase of 2.3% year on year from the 2021 figure of 17 million kilograms. Since 1999, Costa Rican demand has increased by 1.7% year on year. In 2021, the country ranked 22nd in terms of imports, overtaken by Malaysia with 17.3 million kilograms. The United States, the Czech Republic, and Russia respectively ranked second, third, and fourth in this ranking. Costa Rican soap exports came in at 387,250 kilograms in 2018 – up 96.6% from 2017's figure of 197,020 kilograms. Since 1999, the country's supply has decreased by 2.3% yearly.
