The Italian hair care industry is set to reach a combined export and import value of $1.67 billion by 2026. This is an increase of 2.4% year on year since 2021, when the combined value was $1.47 billion. In 2021, the US overtook Italy as the world's largest exporter of hair care products, with exports totalling $1.2 billion. Italy came in at third place with $1.2 billion, followed by France at fourth with $906 million. Australia overtook the UK as the world's largest importer of hair care products in 2021, with imports totalling $267 million. The UK came in at second with $265 million, followed by Germany and China at third and fourth with $201 million and $180 million respectively. Since 1999, Italian hair care exports have grown 6.2% year on year on average. Meanwhile, imports have grown by an average of 0.5% year on year.
