Colombia's import of insulin is set to rise to nearly $95 million by 2026, up from $79 million this year. Over the past 24 years, the country's demand for the drug has grown an average of 2.8% annually. In contrast, Colombia's supply of insulin has fallen by an average of 5.3% each year since 1997. In 2018, Colombia placed 50th in a ranking of countries by insulin import value — Zimbabwe was ahead with $34 million, followed by France, Italy, and China.
