Maltese insulin demand is set to reach $3.98 million by 2026. It was already up to $3.13 million in 2021, at a year-on-year growth rate of 4.1%. Since 1999, demand has increased by an average of 11.6% each year. In 2018, Maltese insulin exports were worth $7,970 - a huge jump from 2017's $115.57 - an increase of 6,790%. This put Malta in 55th place in the world rankings, just behind Ghana, which had exports of $7,970. France, Italy and China were the second, third and fourth largest exporters respectively.
