In 2023, India ranked sixth globally in insulin exports, with the United States taking the lead, also at around $147 million. France, Italy, and China followed in second, third, and fourth places, respectively. On the import side, India's insulin imports are expected to reach roughly $266 million by 2028, up from about $229 million in 2023, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 2.2%. Indian demand for insulin has seen a 4.4% average annual increase since 1993.
