This marks a staggering 98% decrease compared to the previous year. Over the longer term, the demand for prescription glasses in Tanzania has been on a downward trajectory. Since 2000, the country has experienced an average annual decrease of around 73%. In contrast, domestic supply has shown a positive trend. Since 2010, Tanzanian production of prescription glasses has increased by roughly 34% each year.
