This marks a staggering 325.5% increase from the previous year's figure of around $1,870. Despite this recent surge, the long-term trend shows a decline, with Australian demand for imported prescription glasses dropping by 41.5% annually since 1993. On the export front, Australia also saw significant growth. In 2018, the country exported roughly $71,730 worth of prescription glasses, a 65.5% jump from the $43,330 recorded in 2017. However, similar to imports, the broader trend for exports has been downward, with a year-on-year decline of 11.4% since 1994.
