Germany leads this ranking with 23.6 million units, followed by China, Brazil and the UK in second, third and fourth place respectively. Payment transaction volume in France is forecast to reach $28.7 billion by 2026, down 0.6% year on year. This follows a 0.3% rise since 2012. Japan overtook France in 2021 with $30.1 billion, while the US, the UK and Germany topped the ranking in second, third and fourth places respectively.
