This represents a decrease in maternal mortality rates in Ethiopia. It is hoped that this decline will continue in order to reduce the number of maternal deaths even further. Various initiatives have been put in place in order to achieve this goal. These initiatives include improved access to healthcare, better education and awareness, and increased access to family planning services.
