In 2014, there were 648 cases of TB reported, down from 785 cases in 2013. A decrease of 137 cases from the previous year. Health officials believe that increasing public awareness and improved access to treatment for TB patients has led to the decline. They hope that this trend of decline will continue in the future in order to reduce the prevalence of TB in Guyana.
