The fall was mainly due to a decrease in shipments to the US, the UK and Italy. Austrian Polyvinyl Chloride imports are expected to drop by 13.5% in the next five years, from 24 million kilograms in 2021 to just over 10 million kilograms in 2026. This decline is largely attributed to the country's decreased demand since 1999, when it dropped by 7.3% year-on-year. In 2021, Austria ranked 60th in terms of imports, with Greece coming ahead at 24 million kilograms. China, Italy and Germany were second, third and fourth in the ranking, respectively. Austrian Polyvinyl Chloride exports also decreased in 2018, from 11.5 million kilograms in 2017 to just under 10 million kilograms. This was mainly due to decreased shipments to the U.S., the U.K. and Italy.
