This represents a steep annual decline of 7.5% in compound annual growth rate (CAGR). Since the year 2000, the Croatian mining sector has seen a steady decrease, with an average annual fall of 12.2%. In 2023, Croatia ranked 31st in global mining and quarrying production. Macedonia surpassed Croatia with the same €232 million output, while the United Kingdom, Poland, and the Netherlands secured the second, third, and fourth positions, respectively. Revenue from Croatian mining and quarrying also witnessed a sharp decline.
