Korean imports of methanol are expected to reach nearly 1.9 billion kilograms by 2026, up 1% per year on average from 1.8 billion kilograms in 2021. Since 1993, Korean demand has grown by an average of 2.3% each year. In 2018, Korean methanol exports fell 77.7% from the previous year to around 800,000 kilograms. Since 1993, Korean supply has grown 13.7% year-on-year. The country was ranked 50th that year, surpassed by Guatemala with 800,000 kilograms. Iran, Saudi Arabia and the US occupied the top three spots in the ranking.
