Mexican Methanol import is projected to decline in the coming years. In 2021, it is estimated that 63 million kilograms of methanol will be imported, 11.5% lower than the previous year. Since 1996, demand has increased by 12.9% each year on average. Meanwhile, export of methanol from Mexico is projected to decrease to 218,010 kilograms by 2026. This is 24.6% lower than the 2021 figure of 1.02 million kilograms. Since 1995, supply has decreased by 19.5% each year on average. In 2021, Mexico ranked 48th in the world in terms of methanol exports, with India overtaking it with 1.02 million kilograms. Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United States were the top three exporters, respectively.
