Bulgaria's import of methanol is set to reach 36 million kilograms by 2026, an increase of 0.5% annually since 2021. Since 2001, demand has grown by 3.6% each year. However, the country's export of methanol fell by more than half in 2018, reaching 700,320 kilograms compared to 1.5 million kilograms in 2017. This is 43.2% lower than its supply in 2001. Bulgaria was ranked 51st in 2018, behind Austria, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United States.
