Latvia is forecast to see its export of methanol reach 8 million kilograms by 2026, growing at an average rate of 1.7% annually. Since 2007, the country's supply has decreased by nearly 20%. In 2021, Latvia ranked 35th, with South Africa coming in ahead at 7.1 million kilograms. Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United States followed in the ranking, in that order. Latvia's import of methanol rose to 28.8 million kilograms in 2015, up from 18.1 million the year before.
