Portugal's import of xylene skyrocketed by 224.2% in 2018, soaring to 45,790 kilograms from 14,120 kilograms a year earlier. Since 1993, demand has jumped by 216.6% year on year, making it the 48th biggest importer of xylene in 2018. Angola surpassed Portugal to take the 45th spot. Germany, Italy and Belgium followed in second, third and fourth place respectively. Portugal's export of xylene plummeted by 93.4% in 2018, dropping to 70 kilograms from 1,060 kilograms in 2017. Since 1993, supply has dropped by 93% year on year, making Portugal the 35th biggest exporter in 2018. New Zealand took the lead, followed by Singapore, the United States and the Netherlands in second, third and fourth place respectively.
