Freight volumes in Germany are set to drop by 2% annually over the next five years. This is based on a year-on-year decline of 4.2% since 1975. By 2026, German shipping freight is projected to reach 40.1 million tonne-kilometres. That’s down from a projected 43.9 million tonne-kilometres in 2021.
