Sri Lankan agricultural area is set to grow 0.9% annually over the next five years, reaching 1.5 million hectares by 2026. This figure has been increasing since 1966, when the country was placed 89th in a ranking of agricultural supply. Nicaragua has since overtaken Sri Lanka, with 1.4 million hectares, while India, Russia and China are the top three.
