Panama's animal feed export is projected to decline sharply over the next five years. According to recent data, the nation's animal feed export is expected to drop to approximately 321,000 kilograms by 2028, down from around 734,000 kilograms in 2023. This represents an average annual decrease of 13.1%. The downward trend in animal feed exports is not new for Panama. Since 2000, the country's supply has been consistently falling, with an average annual decline of 8.5%. On the import front, Panama saw a significant rise in animal feed imports in 2016. The country imported about 544,000 kilograms of animal feed that year, up from roughly 492,000 kilograms in 2015. This marks an increase of 10.6% compared to the previous year. However, the overall demand for animal feed in Panama has been on a downward trajectory since 2000. Over this period, the demand has decreased by an average of 52.9% annually.
