Zimbabwe's animal feed export witnessed a significant decline in 2023, dropping to approximately 131,000 kilograms from around 274,000 kilograms in 2022. This marks a 52% decrease compared to the previous year. Despite this setback, Zimbabwe's supply has shown a steady increase of 1.7% annually since 2000. In 2023, Zimbabwe was ranked 88th in the global export list, with Kuwait surpassing Zimbabwe at the same export volume of 131,000 kilograms. Leading the rankings were Germany, Belgium, and the United States, securing the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th positions respectively. On the import front, Zimbabwe's animal feed intake is projected to reach approximately 22.7 million kilograms by 2028, up from about 21.1 million kilograms in 2023. This represents an average annual growth of 1.2% in imports. Since 2006, the country's demand for animal feed has been on a steady rise, increasing by 1.3% each year.
