In 2021, Ireland was ranked 15th in terms of market value, with Austria coming in at number one at €919 million. Germany, the Netherlands and France ranked second, third and fourth, respectively. Irish animal feed exports are expected to grow by 2.3% annually over the next five years, reaching 315.19 million kilograms in 2026. This would be a 5.5% increase since 1997. Last year, Ireland was ranked 16th in terms of exports, with the Czech Republic taking the top spot at 272.63 million kilograms. Germany, Belgium and the United States were ranked second, third and fourth, respectively. Finally, imports of Irish animal feed are anticipated to rise by 2.3% annually over the next five years, reaching 990.33 million kilograms in 2026. This would be an increase of 4.7% since 1997. In 2021, Belgium overtook Ireland in terms of imports, at 856.62 million kilograms. Germany, Belgium and Ireland were the top three countries in this ranking.
