This represents a modest annual growth rate of 0.3%, according to recent data. Since the year 2000, demand for animal feed in Malta has increased by an average of 1.3% per year. Conversely, the country's animal feed exports have seen a dramatic decline. In 2018, Malta exported just 544 kilograms of animal feed, a steep drop from the 18,670 kilograms exported in 2017. This marks a year-on-year decrease of 97.1%. Since 2003, Maltese animal feed exports have plummeted by 73.1% annually.
