In the global context, Lithuania ranked 27th in aromatic exports in 2023. Portugal has slightly surpassed Lithuania, holding the same export value of $12,300. Leading the ranking are China, India, and Japan, occupying the second, third, and fourth positions, respectively. On the import side, Lithuania's aromatic imports are expected to reach around $12,300 by 2028, up from nearly $9,700 in 2023, reflecting a more robust average annual growth rate of 3.7%. However, since 2004, Lithuanian demand for aromatics has experienced a slight decline, decreasing by 0.9% each year.
