Since 1994, demand for aromatics in Indonesia has seen a consistent year-on-year increase of 1.8%. In contrast, Indonesian aromatic exports experienced a significant decline. In 2018, exports totaled $56,000, down sharply from $154,000 in 2017—a 64% decrease within a year. Despite this recent drop, the country's aromatic supply has generally been on an upward trajectory, growing by an average of 6.8% annually since 2004.
