Malian demand for millet is projected to reach 1,230 thousand metric tons by 2026, a 0.8% increase from 2021. In 2021, the country was ranked fourth in millet consumption with 1,170 thousand metric tons. Nigeria, Niger and Mali were second, third and fourth respectively. Meanwhile, Malian millet production is expected to grow 1.5% year on year, reaching 2,103,500 metric tons by 2026. Since 1966, Malian production has increased by 1.3% year on year. In 2021, the country was ranked third in millet production with 1,929,800 metric tons, with Nigeria and China ranking first and second respectively.
