Senegalese lamb production is set to increase in the coming years. By 2026, it is projected to reach almost 47,000 metric tons, up 2% from 41,740 metric tons in 2021. Over the past 55 years, production has grown at an average annual rate of 3.8%. In 2021, Senegal ranked 45th in the world in lamb production, behind Kenya which produced 41,740 metric tons. Australia, New Zealand and Algeria came in second, third and fourth respectively.
