Meanwhile, New Zealand's pork consumption is projected to grow 0.9% year-on-year from 2021 to 2026, reaching around 139,000 metric tons in 2026. That's up from 132,000 metric tons in 2021 - an increase of 0.8% since 2017. Ecuador overtook New Zealand as the 60th biggest consumer in 2021, with Mexico, Indonesia and China taking the top three spots.
