The Netherlands is set to experience a slight decline in the import and export of polypropylene over the next five years. In 2021, the country ranked 18th for imports with 273 million kg and 22nd for exports with 212 million kg. Portugal and the Czech Republic respectively ranked first for imports and exports. Italy, Germany and Indonesia were the top three importers, while South Korea, Germany and Singapore were the top three exporters. Since 1997, the Dutch demand for polypropylene imports has grown by an average of 2.3% year-on-year. Meanwhile, the supply has remained relatively steady, with a 0.1% average growth rate year-on-year. By 2026, imports are expected to reach 291 million kg and exports are expected to reach 192 million kg.
