In 2021, Japan was the 13th largest importer at 43 million kilograms, with the UK taking the lead. Germany, the US and Thailand were in second, third and fourth place respectively. Meanwhile, ABS exports from Japan are expected to fall to 48.5 million kilograms by 2026, a 6.8% year-on-year decline. In 2021, Spain overtook Japan as the top exporter at 72 million kilograms. Belgium, Malaysia and the Netherlands were in second, third and fourth place respectively. Since 1993, Japan's overall export of ABS has decreased by 5.6% year-on-year.
