Germany is set to see a surge in its polyurethane exports and imports over the next five years. Export of the material is projected to reach 450 million kilograms by 2026, up 1.6% annually from 402 million kilograms in 2021. Since 1996, the country's supply has increased at a rate of 1.6% per year. China, Italy and the United States are the top three exporters in 2021. Imports of polyurethane into Germany are also expected to grow in the coming years, reaching 128 million kilograms by 2026 at an average rate of 1.2% per year. Since 1996, the country's demand for the material has grown annually at 1.8%. India leads the list of importers in 2021 with 117 million kilograms, followed by Germany, Iran and the United States.
