In 2021, Uganda was the 84th largest importer of fertilizer globally, with 18,520 metric tons imported. Oman was the largest importer, with Brazil, Spain and Thailand coming in at second, third and fourth place, respectively. Since 2009, Uganda's fertilizer imports have grown by 14.9% year on year. By 2026, the country is expected to have imported 20,740 metric tons, a 1.8% increase from 2021.
