Belarusian fertilizer production is projected to reach 1.2 million metric tons by 2026, up from 1.0 million metric tons in 2021. This represents a year-on-year growth rate of roughly 3%. Since 2009, Belarusian markets have grown by almost 5% annually. In 2021, Belarus was the eighth largest fertilizer producer, behind Japan. India, Vietnam and Indonesia rounded out the top four. Meanwhile, Belarusian fertilizer imports are forecast to reach 2,540 metric tons in 2026, up from 2,090 metric tons in 2021. This equates to an average year-on-year growth rate of 3.3%. Since 2007, demand for fertilizer imports has risen by 14%. In 2021, the Bahamas overtook Belarus as the 131st largest importer, with Brazil, Spain and Thailand following in second, third and fourth place respectively. Finally, Belarusian fertilizer exports are projected to reach 1.1 million metric tons by 2026, up from 937,000 metric tons in 2021. This translates to a compound annual growth rate of almost 3%. Since 2007, Belarusian supplies have grown by 3.2% each year. Morocco was the sixth largest exporter in 2021, with Norway, Belgium and Finland following in second, third and fourth place respectively.
