Egyptian urea imports fell 32.7% in 2018 to 2.4 million tonnes, from 3.6 million in 2017. Since 1999, Egyptian demand has increased 6.7% annually. In 2018, Egypt was in fourth place globally, behind Russia, the United States and China.
