In 2021, Ireland was ranked 35th in the world, behind Portugal at 221 million kilograms. India, Brazil and Thailand were the second, third and fourth largest importers respectively. Ireland's export of urea came in at 293 thousand kilograms in 2021, sharply down from 1.5 million kilograms in 2020, a drop of 81%. Since 1997, Irish supply has decreased by 31.5%. Ireland was ranked 73rd in the world in 2021, behind Singapore at 293 thousand kilograms. The top exporters of urea were Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Iran.
