By 2028, this figure is expected to drop to around 31.5 million kilograms, representing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) decline of 4.5%. This trend continues a long-term decrease in demand, which has seen a year-on-year reduction of 5% since 1995. Conversely, Mexico's pet food exports are on an upward trajectory. The country is set to export about 34.5 million kilograms in 2023, with projections indicating an increase to roughly 40 million kilograms by 2028. This marks an average annual growth rate of 2.3%. Historically, since 1995, Mexican pet food supply has seen a modest annual increase of 0.6%. In terms of global rankings, Mexico stood at 26th place in pet food exports in 2023. Sweden surpassed Mexico with exports totaling 34.5 million kilograms. Leading the rankings were France, the United States, and Poland, occupying the second, third, and fourth positions, respectively.
