Malaysia’s caviar exports are projected to decrease slightly by 2.8% year-on-year to 53,470 kilograms by 2026, down from 62,400 kilograms in 2021. Since 1994, exports have fallen by an average of 21.4% annually. Malaysia placed 26th in the 2021 rankings, with South Korea overtaking it at 62,400 kilograms. China, Kazakhstan and Germany were second, third and fourth respectively. Meanwhile, imports of Malaysian caviar are expected to increase by 2.9% year-on-year to 911,700 kilograms by 2026, up from 758,210 kilograms in 2021. Since 1994, demand has grown by 0.5% a year on average. Malaysia ranked 10th in 2021, with Norway overtaking it at 758,210 kilograms. Japan, South Korea and the United States occupied the next three places.
