Tourism in Mexico is set to experience a 2% decline in arrivals over the next five years, falling from 64 million in 2021 to 65 million in 2026. Despite these drops, Mexico's contribution to its GDP through tourism is expected to remain at 8.3% between 2021 and 2026. This is a 0.1% increase from the previous five years, and 0.3% higher than 2013 figures. In 2021, the Philippines overtook Mexico to become the second-largest contributor to GDP, behind Iceland. Mexico was ranked fourth in the same ranking.
