Despite this recent growth, the long-term trend since 1997 shows a slight decline in demand, with a yearly decrease of 0.5%. On the export front, Kenya's sales of electrical equipment dropped to roughly $57 million in 2018, down 3.4% from $59 million in 2017. This decline is part of a broader downward trend, with the supply of electrical equipment decreasing by an average of 5.7% annually since 1997.
