However, this growth comes after a long-term decline, with demand having fallen by 0.2% per year since 1999. On the export front, Uganda saw a decrease in electrical equipment exports, dropping to about $17.6 million in 2018 from $18.1 million in 2017, marking a 2.8% decline. The longer-term trend has been even more concerning, with exports plummeting by an average of 22.5% annually since 1999.
