Burmese demand for electrical equipment is forecast to hit $2 billion by 2026, according to a new report. This is an increase of 3.3% annually since 2021 when it stood at $1.5 billion. This growth has been ongoing since 2015 when the demand was 5.8% higher than it was in 2021. In 2021, Burmese demand was ranked 73rd, with Sri Lanka overtaking at $1.5 billion. The United States, Germany and Singapore were the top three countries in the ranking. On the supply side, Burmese electrical equipment export is expected to reach $216 million by 2026, up 4.3% annually from $168 million in 2021. This is a decrease of 4.4% since 2015. In 2021, Burmese export was ranked 78th, with Kuwait overtaking at $168 million. South Korea, the United States and Germany were the top three countries in the ranking.
