Senegalese demand for metal is set to reach almost 600,000 metric tons by 2026. Since 1975, demand has increased by an average of 2.7% each year. In 2021, the country was ranked 107th in the world for metal imports. El Salvador overtook Senegal in 2021 with around 530,000 metric tons imported. Japan, South Korea and Germany were the top three countries for metal imports, respectively.
