Russia is set to become the 16th biggest importer of metal in the world by 2026. This follows an average growth rate of 1.2% year-on-year since 2001. In 2021, Saudi Arabia overtook Russia which imported 32.82 million metric tons of metal. Japan, South Korea and Germany were ranked second, third and fourth respectively. By 2026, Russia is expected to import 35.29 million metric tons of metal.
