Sierra Leone's defence expenditure is set to drop slightly by 2026. Last year, the West African nation spent $23 million, which put it at 143rd in the global rankings. Ahead of it was Belize, with $23 million. China, India and Russia were the top three, in that order. Since 1966, Sierra Leone's defence budget has seen a decrease of 9.3% year on year. By 2026, it is forecast to drop to around $21 million, a decline of 2.6% per year on average.
