Ugandan gas turbine exports experienced a significant decline in 2023, dropping to approximately $219,000 from around $273,000 in 2022. This marks a 19.7% decrease compared to the previous year. The long-term trend has also been downward, with Ugandan exports falling by an average of 5.9% annually since 2012. In 2023, Uganda ranked 76th in global gas turbine exports. Senegal narrowly surpassed Uganda with the same export value of approximately $219,000. Leading the global rankings were France, Singapore, and Germany, holding the second, third, and fourth positions, respectively. On the import front, Uganda saw a dramatic decrease in gas turbine imports in 2018, dropping to about $24,000 from roughly $76,000 in 2017. This represents a 67.9% decline from the previous year. The trend has been consistently downward since 1999, with Ugandan demand decreasing by an average of 17.9% annually.
